Kawacatoose First Nation is a Plains Cree community with more than 3,500 members living around the world, approximately 1,300 who live on our home reserve north of Raymore, Saskatchewan in Treaty 4 territory. Deeply connected to the land, Kawacatoose made history as the first nation to assume full control of its land and resource funds under the First Nations Oil and Gas and Moneys Management Act (FNOGMMA) and is a signatory to the BHP Jansen Potash Project Opportunities Agreement — negotiated to support long-term benefits including employment, training, business capacity building, and community development. While honouring traditional ways of life, Kawacatoose is building a stronger future for its members by investing in economic development to ensure access to housing, education, healthcare, and employment opportunities for their community.
